CoachMyVideo is technically still on the App Store, but the free CMV app last shipped an update in December 2016 and CMV Pro in September 2017. The state of CoachMyVideo, honestly
Credit where it is due: CMV was one of the pioneers of mobile video analysis, with frame-by-frame stepping, telestration, and synchronized side-by-side playback on iPad years before most competitors. The apps were never formally discontinued and you can still download them. But the free CMV app has not been updated in almost a decade, and CMV Pro still lists iOS 7 as its requirement. In practice that means an interface from the iPhone 6 era, no support for modern screen sizes, camera formats, or frame rates beyond what 2017 hardware offered, and no one to answer if an iOS update breaks something. For an app you use mid-practice, dormant is a risk you eventually lose to.

The pricing difference, stated plainly
CMV Pro was a small one-time purchase. Coach Video Analysis is free to download and try, with a subscription that unlocks everything and includes a free trial; the AI skeleton overlay, grid, fullscreen drawing, and external screen output are free. That is the honest trade: a subscription instead of a one-time price, and in return the app keeps up with new devices, new iOS versions, and new features. A one-time purchase from 2017 stops being cheap the day it stops working.
